01 — WHO INVIGOR IS

Invigor Adolescent Care Ltd provides specialist residential homes for young people aged 10 to 17 across Greater Manchester, supporting complex social, emotional and behavioural needs. The organisation is Ofsted registered, Manchester-based, and works directly with local authorities — every placement is built around an individual care plan developed and reviewed in partnership with commissioning authorities, not a template.

“Believe to Achieve” runs through three pillars — Learn, Care, Live — and through five values held across every home: Compassion, Structure, Respect, Growth, and Integrity. The organisation’s audience is dual: young people who need to feel at home, and commissioners and social workers who need to trust the organisation enough to place a young person there.

03 — THE CHALLENGE

Invigor needed a redesign that could carry the weight of Ofsted-facing trust. Commissioners, social workers and local authorities making placement decisions need to feel the organisation’s competence and care within seconds — not after digging through a generic template site built for a different kind of business.

The build also had real operational weight to carry: four individual homes that each needed their own presence and personality rather than being flattened into one generic gallery, and a careers section that needed to connect to a live applicant tracking system so open roles could be filled without a second piece of software bolted on afterward.

04 — WHAT WAS BUILT

05 — THE APPROACH

The palette had to work against the instinct most care-sector sites default to: a sterile blue-and-white “hospital” look. Invigor’s actual work is warm, human and child-centred, so the direction leaned into a confident navy and magenta, warmed up with gold — Fredoka’s rounded display type reinforces that this is a home, not an institution, while Plus Jakarta Sans keeps the operational content (policies, referral routes, job descriptions) legible and professional.

Structuring the four homes as individual profiles rather than one flat grid was a deliberate call. A social worker weighing where to place a young person is making a real decision, and each home needed enough of its own identity to support that.

The careers section was designed to route straight into Invigor’s existing Teamdash pipeline rather than duplicating a hiring process elsewhere, so a candidate applying through the site is applying into the real system the team already works from.

DESIGN FEEL

Warm and human, not clinical. Rounded display type over a confident navy-and-magenta pairing, gold for warmth, cream for breathing room — built to feel like a home, not a hospital.
