Privacy policy
Last updated 28 May 2026
This is the privacy policy for jomelbasco.com. I’m Jomel Basco — a solo WordPress and Elementor developer based in Quezon City, Philippines. This page explains what data I collect when you visit the site or hire me, why I collect it, and what rights you have over it.
If you’re hiring me for a project, the project agreement we sign at engagement time is the binding contract. This page covers the website only.
1. What I collect
Three categories, nothing more.
Contact form data. When you fill out the contact form, I receive your name, email, message, and any project details you share. This goes to my email inbox.
Analytics. The site uses standard web analytics to count page views and see which pages get traffic. This is aggregated, not personal — I can see that 12 people visited /services/, not who they were.
Cookies. A small number, used to keep the site functioning (session, preference) and to power analytics. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
2. How I use it
Contact form data is used to reply to your enquiry and, if you hire me, to deliver the project. I don’t sell it, share it with marketers, or add you to a newsletter without asking.
Analytics data is used to see what’s working on the site. I don’t connect it to individuals.
3. Third-party services
These third parties may process data on my behalf:
- Hosting — the company that runs the server this site sits on. Stores server logs (IP, timestamp, requested URL) for security.
- Email provider — handles delivery of messages from the contact form to my inbox.
- Analytics provider — counts page views.
- Payment processor — if you become a client, payments are handled by Stripe or bank transfer. I never see your card details.
Each of these has its own privacy policy. They’re industry-standard providers, not exotic ones.
4. How long I keep it
Contact form messages stay in my inbox until the conversation ends or I archive them. If you become a client, project records (contracts, invoices, deliverable assets) are kept for 7 years to comply with Philippine tax and business record requirements.
Analytics data is retained for up to 26 months in aggregate form.
5. Your rights
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10173) you have the right to:
- Be informed about how your data is processed (this page)
- Access the data I hold about you
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Object to processing or withdraw consent
- Request that I delete your data (within legal retention limits)
- Lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission of the Philippines (privacy.gov.ph)
If you’re in the UK, EU, Australia, or Canada, you have equivalent rights under GDPR, the Australian Privacy Act, or PIPEDA. I honour them the same way.
To exercise any of these rights, email me at hello@jomelbasco.com. I respond within 7 business days.
6. Data security
The site runs on HTTPS. Server logs and email are stored on accounts protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication. Project files are stored on encrypted cloud storage with the same protections.
I’m one person, so the data exposure is small — no team logins, no shared spreadsheets of customer data, no marketing tools full of leads. That’s by design.
7. International transfers
I’m based in the Philippines. The hosting, email, and analytics providers above may store data in the US, EU, or Singapore. By using the site or hiring me, you accept that your data may cross borders.
8. Updates to this policy
If I change anything material, I’ll update the date at the top and post a short note on the home page for 30 days. Small wording fixes get a quiet update.
9. Contact
